The Brown Pelican in breeding colors is one of the most striking birds. This one is coming into full color but is not quite there yet. The red patch around the eye is not fully developed yet, but soon. The brown pelican has a wingspan of six to eight feet and is about four feet in length making it the smallest of the six pelican species. The Brown Pelican pouch can hold up to three gallons of water and fish.
