These babies are born blind, featherless, and pink, weighing only one half an ounce. They grow very quickly. Their gender can be determined in nine days and by the age of six weeks, look like adults. Both parents feed the young and it starts out about every twenty minutes and by the time they are ready to leave the nest, around four and a half weeks, are being fed about every 2 hours.
